Kids At The Bat Caves / Arlpare
1996 90 x 190 cms NFS
Fifteen kilometers south of town an ancient water system is exposed where the reef of crumbly limestone walls has collapsed. Bat colonies have occupied the resulting caves, and the systems of tunnels have proved an attractive area for exploration. Old Aranye showed me the place in the early 1990s and my kids have encouraged numerous recreational trips there. The Hayes lads, harry, stephan and patrick, joined us on the occasion documented in this painting.
